It's a situation where due to the programming the game has decided that the next bullet is going to hit you, and there is nothing that is going to change that. You know that the bullet that hit you was going to hit you no matter what you did. There is no feeling of realism that comes from being shot by either one.
There is also another problem with the striders themselves as well as the helicopters. You absolutely must kill every hunter that is with a strider because when it comes to the Magnuson devices the hunter will never miss. And they will make sure that the hunters have perfect aim to destroy any Magnuson device that hits a Strider. I don't mean that to say that Valve is insulting us:lol, what I mean is the hand of the developer is just that obvious.įor example, Valve doesn't want you to be able to use the Magnuson device on the Striders until after you kill all of the hunters. It's usually not a problem with the HL series, but when it comes to some battles you don't just see the hand of the developer, you are slapped by it.
It ruins the moment and atmosphere of the game.
None of us like to see what we call "the hand of the developer" when we are playing a game. Helicopters, Striders, and the larger battles always seem to play out the same way in HL games, exactly how Valve wants them to.
